TOR and DIPLOMA Authentication procedure

TOR and DIPLOMA Authentication procedure

This is something I'm so used to since I used to assist clients in having their school records authenticated. It will save you time and money if you know what you need to bring and what you need to do before you even go to DFA.

MUST DO: You need your TOR and DIPLOMA (counted as 1 document) from your school. You need a certified TRUE COPY of those documents and a separate certification from your school with receipt.

If you're a graduate of a STATE UNIVERSITY, then you can just go ahead and have your TOR and DIPLOMA authenticated. If you're from any other school, you need to either go to TESDA (Technical Course), DEPED (High School Graduate) or CHED (College Graduate from a PRIVATE school) in your Region and they will issue you another certification before you can have your papers authentication by the DFA.

It will take around 5 business days before you can get your red ribbon from DFA.
WARNING: Only the owner is allowed to request to have their document authenticated, unless you are a relative who is duly authorized.

If you need help or wants to know more, you may email me : passport_etc@yahoo.com

authentication, red ribbon DFA and MALACANYANG, NSO, TOR and DIPLOMA

If you are going outside the Philippines you may need to have your documents authenticated before the office of the Foreign Affairs ( DFA-) It used to be DFA and MALACANYANG but now they have consolidated the process and you only have to go to the DFA to get your "RED RIBBON"/or authentication.
NOTE: Only the owner of the document is allowed to process such unless you have an affidavit and or an authorization.

I have a funny story about RED RIBBON, I called LBC years ago because I heard that they also provide such assistance .( Though we also provide RED RIBBON assistance, i just want to compare their services from what we are offering at that time) The lady over the phone was not sure so she put me on hold and after a few minutes , she said that I can only do it online and she gave the website. I have a feeling that she did not understand my question but i went on and listen to her. I went to the website and I was right-the lady was actually referring to the "red ribbon " the cake store :-). But LBC really provides such assistance but it's costly. I have friends who still work in TRAVEL AGENCIES and they provide AUTHENTICATION ASSISTANCE for a minimal cost (around 500/documents)WARNING:NOT ALL TRAVEL AGENCIES ARE ALLOWED TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE-They need to be accredited and pay for a BOND to process such. Same thing goes with PASSPORTING. A travel agency maybe accredited to process PASSPORTS only or PASSPORTS and AUTHENTICATION or AUTHENTICATION only. There is a separate bond per procedure in case something goes wrong, a client can complain and the DFA can take agency's bond to pay the complainant and or cancel the agency's accreditation.

FAQS

1. What is RED RIBBON or AUTHENTICATION?
Answer: It a paper literally with a red ribbon on the rigth side attesting that the siganture in your document is genuine (not from RECTO) .Example, in your birth certificate
The DFA authentication attest to the genuineness of the signature appearing on the attached certification for the purpose of identifying a specific document and giving credence to the official acts of the notary public or certifying officer thereon for use, if and when required, as instrument of evidence in foreign countries.

2. Does it expire?
Answer:YES. The authentication is valid for a year from the date of issuance
NOTE: It is best that you request for a new copy of your birth cert from NSO (SECPA) keep the receipt and then have it authenticated. Some Embassies will not accept your birth certificate if it's more than 6 months old though your reb ribbon is NEW.

pinoys looking for work abroad

Okay, so we are here in the Philippines and we badly need to get out of the country to earn more money and to help our family. We Filipinos are really like that- "family oriented" and there is nothing wrong with that, in fact, the love for our family is what pushes us to dream and reach for our dreams.

How do we earn money asap? For us pinoys, we want to work abroad since we don't have enough opportunities here in our own country. I am presently working in a call center but I also want to work abroad some day ( not now). I used to work in a travel agency , so I was lucky enough to travel outside the country for leisure (not work). I was also a LIAISON officer of our travel agency to the DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs) for passporting and other travel documents like Visa and authentication or red ribbon. Being a graduate of care giving myself, i used to visit the POEA website and read comments looking for opportunities. I was surprised that not many people know what to do or where to go to when they job hunt. I would usually reply to the questions and teach them what to do and how to do it specially for passport and authentication. People start thanking me and emailing me directly and asking if I know someone who can actually help them since they are from different provinces or they can't go to Manila. I saw an opportunity to share what I know and it's very rewarding. we all want that... we want to feel needed, valued and significant. (or maybe it's just me :-)

This is the day! I will select a topic soon (like how to get your documents authenticated, how to renew your passport etc) anything about traveling and finding work abroad and hopefully you'll be back for more and feel free to share what you know.
